18/06/2025 - Sensitive skin: 3 facts you (maybe) didn't know
Sensitive skin is the subject of a lot of attention... but also of some preconceived ideas.
Here are three pieces of data from our panel that might just change your perspective.
- Sensitive skin doesn't know gender
Contrary to popular belief, skin sensitivity does not only affect women.
In our panel, 44,3% of women et 44,1% of men report having sensitive facial skin.
Almost identical figures - and yet rarely highlighted.
- Tightness and redness: the most common symptoms
When the skin reacts, these are the tugging (82,7%) and rash (68%) which are the most cited symptoms.
Visible signs, sometimes uncomfortable, and often difficult to ignore — for consumers as well as for brands.
- After 50, sensitivity increases
In women over 50, almost one in two claims to have sensitive skin.
A trend that could be linked to the hormonal changes of menopause… An avenue to explore to better adapt product formulas and promises.
